We are also honored that our Magnet programs have been recognized by Magnet Schools of America as Magnet School of Distinction, highlighting the exceptional opportunities available to our students.
Patrick Henry Middle School is a thriving learning community filled with dedicated teachers and staff, motivated students, supportive families, and valued community partners. Together, we cultivate a culture of excellence, belonging, and Patriot Pride while preparing students for success in high school, college, career, and life.
At PHMS, we pride ourselves on providing a safe, supportive, caring, and nurturing environment where all students can thrive. We offer a variety of specialized programs, including our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Magnet, Performing and Visual Arts (PAVA) Magnet, and Schools for Advanced Studies (SAS) program.
We have systems and supports in place to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to our rigorous academic program, students may choose from a wide range of elective courses. These include music, theater, dance, animal science, horticulture, visual arts, robotics, computer science, digital graphics, Making Movies That Matter, yearbook, and leadership.
Students also have opportunities to participate in clubs and sports programs during lunch and after school. In addition, we offer free after-school programs that provide tutoring, technology access, homework support, enrichment activities, dance, and sports. Our goal is to ensure that every student receives a well-rounded educational experience both during and beyond the school day.
Parents and families are an integral part of our success. There are numerous opportunities to become involved in your child's education at PHMS, and we value families as true partners in education. Our state-of-the-art Parent Center hosts workshops, meetings, and trainings designed to support student success.
We are also proud to have active parent organizations, including the PTSA, PAVA Patron Boosters, and STEM Magnet Boosters. Families are encouraged to participate in key decision-making groups such as the Local School Leadership Council (LSLC), School Site Council (SSC), and English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).
Our school's success is further strengthened by our many community partners. We are proud of these collaborative relationships and continually seek new partnerships that enhance opportunities and experiences for our students.
